The Department

Mechanical engineering is a discipline that applies the principle of physics and material science for analysis, design and manufacturing. The application base of this field of study is extremely broad and diverse. Traditionally, Mechanical Engineers have to deal with concepts such as mechanics, thermodynamics, robotics, kinematics, structural analysis, fluid mechanics, Nano Technology and many others. These concepts are applied in the process of designing state-of-the art - manufacturing units, different types of motor vehicles, aircraft and aerospace parts and a vast assortment of industrial machinery. Mechanical engineers also contribute in the development of various engines, power plant equipment, heating and cooling systems and other simple and complex machinery. Mechanical engineers not only design new mechanical system but they are also responsible for testing, maintaining and manufacturing them.

Objective

To educate the students in the fundamentals of engineering science with their application and to enable them to analyse the practical problems using design, analysis, and synthesis of Mechanical components through research activities.

Encouraging them to contribute to the creation of useful new products, entrepreneurial behavior, research and leadership within the public, private or academic sectors by using their technical, professional, ethical knowledge and succeed in the competitive modern world.

Scope

It has a tremendous scope in automobile engineering, cement industry, steel power sector, paper industries, manufacturing plants, drilling and mining Industry, Petroleum, Aeronautical, Biotechnology, Computer Industries and many more .public sector industries such as Indian railways, Indian air force (technical),Indian Army, Thermal Power corporation, ISRO, DRDO, HAL, SAIL etc., also recruiting mechanical engineering graduates.
